Now I am fifteen days away from coming home. Till then I will be doing some school work and getting things organized for when I'm back home. Taylor and I will also be doing some individual lessons before we go. We are going to have a fun team practice tomorrow and then the next time we are all together again is when we are saying our goodbyes :(
Today is Vidar's birthday so I promised him I would go to school with him. Swedish schools are extremely different from schools in the US! First of all, they walk around in socks! Their tables are raised up so they are sitting on raised chairs. I only stayed for the morning, but I think it was good that I didn't stay; I was feeling slight anxiety over the fact that the teacher walked out of the classroom for a good 10 minutes. They had morning homeroom which lasted about an hour! The school is open so anyone can come in; I didn't even need to sign in or wear a visitor pass. The students are trusted to get to their class by themselves. All of a sudden Vidar's teacher said that we all had to leave for music class and then everyone put on their coats and shoes and walked outside to the other side of the building since they are too loud to walk through the hallway. In between classes they have 10 minute breaks...oh my gosh, I didn't know what to think! It really made me analyze the time factor that have so many American teachers frustrated. In Sweden they go about their day with plenty of time to spare! It was eye opening, to say the least!
